Family Dining
At the academy we offer a menu cycle which includes daily vegetarian and halal options, side dishes and desserts.
All students are seated formally at tables for lunch as part of our Family Dining service, and we expect all students to eat the healthy meal provided by the academy. There are vegetables, salads and fresh bread accompanying the meal, followed by a dessert or fresh fruit.
Students are allowed to bring in packed lunches by signing up at the beginning of a school term.
Meals will cost £2.50 per day, unless you are eligible for Free School Meals, and will be paid for online using the payment portal, ParentPay.
A free breakfast is available from 7.45am each day, and a range of snacks are available at break times. Our breakfast provides an opportunity for students to prepare themselves physically for learning and to ensure that they are punctual.

Do you know if you are eligible for Free School Meals? All students get a hot meal every day as part of Family Dining, including those eligible for Free School Meals.
Applications should be completed through the Hackney Learning Trust or download an application form from their website. Alternatively, if you need help with your application, please contact the academy.

Pabulum (our catering team)
At Pabulum we are a devoted and dedicated team of food-loving professionals with a passion for creating healthy, nutritionally balanced, delicious school meals. Our vision is to bring passion, incredible ingredients, inspiring chefs, fresh food and smiling faces to hungry pupils.
We feel strongly about educating young people in the need to feed on fresh, wholesome food. Balanced diets and healthy choices help keep classroom concentration levels higher.
We also have a strong ethos on food provenance and ensure that all our produce is as local and as fresh as possible, with over 75% of all our produce sourced from the UK. All our meat is Red Tractor certified, meaning it is all from the UK and can be traced back to the farm. We also hold the Good Egg Award from Compassion in World Farming, for only ever using free-range eggs across our entire business, which are sourced from our happy hens at Fluffett’s Farm in Hampshire.
In order to drive this initiative we have recently refreshed our marketing, including our website, company newsletter, unit marketing campaigns and most importantly our brand. We are also entering the world of blogging and Twitter (@Pabulum-Catering), and as always we will update our website news to keep everyone aware of exciting things happening at Pabulum.
